Year 10 - Here is a sample paper for you to try over half term

Hi Year 10,

As you know, after the holidays during exam week you are going to have a mock Unit one exam.  It will be 1 hour 15 minutes long and will be worth 78 marks.  You will be tested on the 6 units that you have covered in class since the start of year 10.

If you click on the link below, you will get access to a sample paper and mark scheme that you can try over the holidays.  Both the Higher and Foundation papers are there.

Remember to use all the study guides under the 'Y10 revision' tab - they have everything you need to know for the exam - use your exercise book and textbook to add the detail.

Year 11 Unit 1 exam done, lets look to Unit 2!!

Hi Year 11,

Now the Unit 1 exam is over, lets get prepared for Unit 2 this Thursday!!

• Remember!  The exam is out of 78 marks and is 75 minutes long, so allocate yourself one minute per mark for whatever the question is worth.  Stick to this and be strict with yourself!

• If they do not ask for a case study for the 6 and 8 mark questions, use an appropriate one anyway to help you answer the question - this is expected even if they don't ask for it.

• Do not leave any answers blank, if you are not sure make an educated guess.

• Remember to answer the 'Changing settlements in the UK' and 'Challenges of an urban world' questions in sections B and C. 

• Please use all the updated revision guides on the blog to help you revise for Unit 2 over the next few days.

• Good Luck everyone, come and see any of us in the Geography dept. this week if you need help and remember the revision sessions this week - Wed 21st period 3 - DME and Friday 23rd period 6 - DME.

Hi Year 11!

Hope you are enjoying your Easter hols.  All the revision guides have been updated now for unit one - you can find them in the Year 10 tab.  Only two more of unit two need updating - population, resources, globalisation and development dilemmas are all up to date!
